One of the unique things about working at a newspaper is eavesdropping on the cops via the police scanner. The radio traffic is usually mundane, and sometimes grim. But every once in a while, I hear something that makes me laugh out loud.

It just happened, when a dispatcher asked a patrol officer to investigate a report about a man running naked through the streets.

"Can I get a description?" the officer asks.

"Naked," the dispatcher answers. "And running."
