This could go down as one of the wackier requests here, but I figured I’d give it a shot.

I am abondoning my car in Oklahoma City, as I broke the axle this morning. My girlfriend and I are scheduled to fly out tomorrow afternoon, so that I can get back in time to start a new job. Supposedly some airlines sell boxes for bikes at the ticket counter, but there is no way to find out if they actually have any in advance, so if I take my bike to the airport I risk having to leave it there. Since I am already abandoning my car, it would be nice to keep the bike. The airline I am flying will not put the bike on board without it being in a box or case. Since it is late on a Saturday, all the bike shops are closed, and are also closed tomorrow. One dead end after another.

So, if anyone lives in Oklahoma City, or knows someone who would be willing to help a fellow bicyclist, I would be more than happy to pay someone for the trouble of putting my bike in the mail. If I can’t figure this out I will be giving up my IM training 6 weeks before the race, as this trip has already caused too much financial hardship to buy another bike when I get home.
