pull bouy

The swimming break through post led me to wonder, do you swim faster or slower when using a pull bouy?
This could be a clue to what might help some of us.
I swim about the same either with or without when going at cruising/distance speed.
For 200 meters and less at higher speeds I am much faster kicking.
When kicking the legs should bend only slightly (almost not at all) and the feet should be pointed but not rigid. (rigid is better than not pointed)
Bending the knees very much or bending much at the hips will create a huge amount of drag and are the most likely things to cause a person with a decent arm pull to move slowly through the water.
So what about you? Faster slower or about the same with a pull bouy?
