Appendix-free club

I just became a member of the Appendix-Free Club on Thursday evening. Just wondering if anyone else is a member and how long recovery takes.
Before surgery, I asked the doctor if it could wait until after I climbed the Sears Tower on Sunday 11/11, but he denied my request. I feel as if I am letting down my financial supporters. (It was a charity event for cancer research.) Oh well, as we say in Chicago- "Maybe next year".
