First sprint triathlon… any words of wisdom?

Ok so I've have decided to do a sprint triathlon in August. I'm a bit nervous because I have never done anything like this before. At this point I'm definitely not in good enough shape to do one tomorrow but if I start training now do I have enough time? Is there gear that I'll need that I can't live without? Any and all suggestions or advice is welcome! =)
