Bikes for half iron

Moving up to the half-iron this year. Previously, when doing the sprint and Olympic distance races, I have always operated under the assumption that distances were short enough that riding a tri-bike was not a huge advantage to justify the additional expense. My times on the bike intervals seemed to prove that idea compared to others I knew riding a tri-bike in the same race. I currently own an Orbea road bike and training hard with a powertap unit I recently purchased. My question – as I move up to the half-iron and a longer bike distance, do I make a transition to a tri-bike? In particular, I am looking at the new Wilier tri-bike(Cento Crono). Any thoughts?
