I am looking to adapt my current training plan and I'm not sure how to do it… I am a beginner to triathlons, I completed my first sprint distance last summer and I am planning to do my first Olympic event in August 2008, with two sprint distance races in June and July. I have signed up to do a half-marathon March 2, and I realize I may need to increase my runnning training to make this race a good one. I currently run three days a week, about 28 km/week total, one day is a long run that I am currently doing at 14 km, one easy run and one hills or speedwork. I bike twice a week , one ride 45 minutes and one ride 1hr-1hr30, and swim 2-3 days/week mainly doing drills still. Doing this current plan, can I better my run time without sacrificing my swim/bike training quality? Should I add an extra daywith some speedwork?
