O.K. I took some of your advice- NEW BIKE PARTS
Message posted by: Sondra W.
I bit the bullet and upgraded my bike with a FSA K Force compact crank and an FSA derailler since I did not want to spend the big bucks and upgrade to a 10 speed, and wanted 170 cranks with low gearing. I went up some steep hills this weekend and seemed to do fine with no pain in my back, even though the gearing wasn't as low as the triple I had been riding with. Since I live in the mountains and do lots of climbing, I think this setup will work fine but I will have to pedal faster on the flats since the large chainring is not as big as a normal set-up.
Thanks for your input. Sorry to the guys who said to get 10 speed 'cause Ijust did not want to spend that much $$$$.
