Just back from completing my first ever ice bike race. Since I ride to work in and around the race couse, I didn't think it would be much different. Wrong! Up and down snow covered river banks, along an ice path, down stairs, and some straight aways just for fun. I think I ran almost as much as I rode. I finished second in my group, (there were only 3 of us, but I could see the first place finisher. I believe I was faster, though her bike was geared better, not to mention that it was a much better bike) anyway, had I known what the course was like i proably would have bailed. There's something to be said for being naive.
