Run or not run, that is the question!

Of course my goal this year was to qualify for Boston, until I found out I still needed a 3:10 marathon (even after turning 30). So I don't think I'm ready for that yet, since my previous bests are 3:28:39 (April '07) full and 1:34:35 1/2 (December '07) Then I decided to start this p90x and keep training for the full marathon and go for a 3:15 or something like that. My runs haven't felt great lately, well long runs. I'm feeling pretty good on my speed workouts, tempo runs are okay, but longruns just don't feel great. After like mile 8 I'm going downhill.
I don't want to do a full and go past my 3:28 mark, because then I feel like I didn't do myself justice. I have yet to go backwards in time for any race distance, and I don't want to dissapoint myself this year. Then again, I don't want to just do p90x and not do a race until later in the summer. Last night in the shower I got to think, go for 3:28 or better, which means holding around 8:00 minutes miles. I think I can do that. I will no more this weekend when I go out for my first 16 miler since the marathon last year. If I can maintain 8's or better for that run, then I think I'm going to go do Nashville again. I had also thought about dropping down the 1/2 marathon again, but I don't think I can better my 1:34:35 from this past 1/2 marathon just yet and just like above I don't like doing worse.
So wish me luck. I'm thinking this high protein diet and low energy levels is what is hampering me…well I hope! Plus I just thought I would complain somewhere about my running, and where better than at ontri?
