half marathon race report

I ran the Great Western Half Marathon on Sunday. It went well.
It was not a chipped race. There were approx 700 runners and I was in the back of pack due to wife (who ran her first 1/2, had to run to the truck and drop off clothes. The start was congested to say the very least. (a 6 foot wide path). I have been having a left hip issue the past month so I did not set out for any PR. Just wanted to finish healthy, which from what I can tell from this morning, I did)
Blood Crime hd The Crypt trailer As the pack thinned, I hit the first mile mark at 8:49. I was pretty calm considering I knew going in a PR (1:38:06) was not an option. I knew when I hit the 1 mile mark I was better than a 8:49. but was not worried so I just maintained a steady cruise and finished at 1:45:14 on my watch. Wife finished in 2:07
