Short and sweet RR…..

I am offically bragging on myself today- I had an AWESOME race!

I met up with Suzanne C. and Shaun M. before the race, but lost them at the start and started with my running partner Kirk, but ran mostly by myself at my own pace the whole time. Nice weather except very windy. I wore my new Garmin-awesome- really kept me motivated. I ran between 9-9:30 miles the whole way except for between miles 10-12 I ran some 8:30-8:45’s! (I was consistently a 10-11 min/miler forever before this year). I was hoping for 2:05 and I ran 2:03:30- excellent. I stopped to use the portajohn once (waited about 30 seconds, it was occupied, left, heard it open behind me, and ran back to use it)..probably lost 1:30-2 minutes, but it’s ok. Mostly why I’m so happy is that my times have improved major-ly (is that a word?)for all of my races, but for this 1/2 in particular.

My fastest 1/2 marathon ever before today was 2:12 at Gasparilla in 2004…so I’m getting better with age!
