biggest loser marathon?

Message posted by: Thomas M.

If anyone saw the Biggest Loser tonight, it featured a voted-off member completing a marathon. They said his time was 3:53 and change. He still looked like he was packing a lot of weight. Not to take anything away from his accomplishment, but how does a guy who is *clearly* not in running shape run a sub-four hour marathon? I don’t see how it can be done. Even if he were athletic, the training alone would either lean you down A LOT more than he was, or the run would cause injury because of moving that much weight. How does someone that size not have knee, ankle, hip, ITB, back, shin, shoulder, etc. problems just from moving 300+ pounds 26.2 miles? That’s a sub-9:00/mile. I just don’t see how he could have the fitness-athletically or physiologically. Maybe I am missing something, or just feel like ranting because I really would like to break four hours, and this guy goes out and shatters my best by 13 minutes! Again…I am not trying to take anything away from his ac
complishment, if legit. I sincerely hope the producers at NBC are not trying to pull a fast one. OK…rant over. Thank you.
