Lately I have been experiencing the ubiquitous “lower leg pain.” It waxes and wanes throughout the day, but is generally worse in the mornings, and after I have been sitting for a while. I have not run for four days, and was planning on doing a short 4-5 miler today…I stretch all day, and ice it at night. I have a half marathon next month, and a marathon in June, and while I would like to run a good race, I also want to make sure I can do the other events I have planned this summer. What are your thoughts? Run normally, run shorter, run slower, run shorter *and* slower, don’t run at all until the pain is completely gone?

I have been looking online, and there seems to be as many opinons on this issue as there are people! I talked to my doctor, and am starting PT on Friday. Last time I had this 910 days before my first marathon!) I was back to running within just a few days after PT.
