run recovery methods?

Message posted by: Ronald F.

I’ve upped my running miles big time this month, mostly easy to moderate pushing speed occationally to keep from becoming a one slow speed slug. Never wearing myself down to where I lose my form. Just building a big base before I start hammering out speed workouts late next month.

I feel no pain ( Thank you Bobby Mcgee http://www.bobbymcgee.com/home.html) anywhere except occational heel area, mostly in the morning.

Now to the point.

If I swim immediately after my run I have no problem.

If I don’t swim, heel discomfort can convince me to take the next day or two off from running.

If I swim a bit more breaststoke, that seems to help even better.

I don’t do any stretching because I noticed long ago that the people that tend to stretch a lot tend to be the ones injured a lot. I consider swimming to be enough of a stretching exercise.

Do the rest of you have similar experiences?

What do you do to recover from long or agressive run workouts?

watch the princess and the frog full movie

Are you a person that stretches a lot and does not get injured?

Are you a person that stretches a lot and gets running type injurys anyway?
