zoots, sockless running, and blisters

Message posted by: Terence H.

I just picked up some Zoot Energys and tried them out on my first ever sockless run. After about 10-15 minutes I could feel the blisters forming on te side of m achiles on both feet. The shoes may have been a tad tight so I traded them in for a 1/2 size up but haven’t yet run in them (waiting another day or 2 for the blisters to heal a little). Anyone have similar experiences with Zoots? Any suggestions for sockless running in general (that is, for avoiding blisters while running sockless)? When I exchanged the shoes, the clerk said some people apply body glide to their feet. I intend to try this, but would rather not have to everytime I go out. I was hoping most people’s feet just adapt/toughen up. I’ll be interested in hearing others’ experiences….
